Late rock star's early home set for restoration

Home where youngster plotted his music career

DAVID Bowie's childhood home is being ch-ch-ch-ch-changed back to how it was when he was a youngster - including his old bedroom.

The singer, who would have turned 79 yesterday, lived with his parents at 4 Plaistow Grove, Bromley, from the age of eight to 20, when he was still called David Jones.

On the eve of the 10th anniversary of his death from liver cancer, the terraced house has been acquired by the Heritage of London Trust.
