NOT IN USE Cameras to catch speeding motorists

IN THE past year, angry residents across Scotland have raised concerns over the loss of speed cameras in their areas.

In the most recent case, a speed camera on Gleniffer Road in Paisley has been labelled “not in use”.

Operator Safety Cameras Scotland said the camera had been made “dormant” because a review had found crashes and bumps at the site were not linked to the speed of vehicles.

Last week, councillor Stephen Burns asked for the decision to be reconsidered after approaches from worried locals.
