Celts hierarchy are in for quite a chat with fans after team are put through mill by Well

combined to set up Maeda to head in low from close range to claim the points.

It was far from convincing from Celts and they were staring down the barrel of a third game in a week without a win in these parts.

But manager Brendan Rodgers chucked the kitchen sink at the visitors and by the end the sheer pressure paid off to cut the gap on Hearts at the top of the Premiership to two points again,

RODGERS EARNING HIS MONEY

The Hoops got out of dodge here but it's clear Rodgers is facing the toughest test of his two spells with Celtic.

There have been times when it's looked like a breeze for the boss, with goals flowing and trophies piling up.

But this current side is a pale imitation of his previous teams.

They used to be ruthless but are now toothless. They used to hog the ball, now they give it away for fun.

The signs of the summer window are well known but it's left Rodgers with a squad lacking in quality and in balance.

There are square pegs being rammed into round holes and it's left the side looking disjointed at best and a rabble at worst.

He got the job done eventually but it's not half hard for right now.

It doesn't look like Rodgers has a first 11 let alone his best one and he'll have his work cut out keeping the wheels on the wagon.

GOOD TO TALK?

Hoops fans were celebrating at the end but if Maeda hadn't pounced, it would have been a hugely different story.
