A&E waiting times hit an 8-month high

THE Scottish Government has come under fire over a spike in patients having long waits in A&E - with new figures showing the number enduring waits of 12 hours or more reaching the highest level for eight months.

A total of 1604 (5.9 per cent) patients spent more than 12 hours in A&E in the week ending October 5 - up from 1431 (5.2 per cent) the pre
