Wild campers 'freeload at country park and use woods as their toilet'

FREELOADING wild campers are using parking spaces at a country park to stay overnight - leaving a disgusting mess in the woods. Ty Mawr Country Park is by the Grade II Listed Cefn railway viaduct across the River Dee and close to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

The Wrexham council run site is a popular place for walkers and other visitors - both from the local area and further afield. But recently its overflow car park has become popular with wild campers.

It is understood the problem erupted after the site was wrongly named as a place for wild camping in North Wales.

They have been using the park's woods as a toilet.
