UK Budget Day will end some speculation – but it’s not the end of the story for Wales

IT’S BUDGET Day and, thankfully, an end to the speculation business owners have endured over the past few weeks.

However, whatever is announced today, Welsh businesses have another important day to come, as the Welsh Government still has to finalise its own draft budget - a process that will no doubt be shaped by the Chancellor's choices.

This is especially relevant for retail and hospitality firms, many of whom fear losing the current 40% business rates relief that has helped them stay afloat during a period of rising costs and weakening demand.

That fear is not unfounded.
