Trundle: ‘Phil's done an amazing job, has every right to be manager’

WREXHAM have been urged to keep the faith with manager Phil Parkinson after a club hero blasted reports his future was under threat as “disgraceful”.

- By LIAM RANDALL

The former Sunderland and Bolton boss has led the Red Dragons, co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, to three consecutive promotions.

His impressive achievements in taking the North Wales club from the National League to the Championship have earned widespread recognition after being highlighted on the popular Welcome to Wrexham documentary on Disney+.

However, Parkinson’s side have endured a difficult start to life in the second tier this season and speculation emerged in mid-September that talks had been held by club chiefs over his future.

The claims were later dismissed by Wrexham director Shaun Harvey, who said the manager still has plenty of credit in the bank.

Ex-Wrexham and Swansea City striker Lee Trundle has now insisted the club are correct to back Parkinson, despite his less than sparkling previous track record in the Championship.
