Council hikes rents but says they are still 'reasonable'

A NORTH Wales council has approved an increase of its council rents and service charges - but says it is still "reasonable".

Anglesey County Council's executive approved the 2026/27 rises on Tuesday.

The average weekly rent for a bedsit would go up from £83.52 to £92.64.

A one-bed flat rises from £94.20 to £105.24, a two-bed flat from £104.41 to £113.29, a three-bed flat from £114.98 to £123.05 and four-bed flat from £125.70 to £142.95.

A one-bed bungalow goes up from £104.11 to £109.39, a two-bed from £114.16 to £119.51, a three-bed from £125.10 to £130.60 and a four-bed from £137.40 to £143.31.

A one-bedroom house goes from £104.31 to £108.79, a two-bed from £115.21 to £120.19, a three-bed from £123.35 to £128.80, a four-bed from £132.38 to £138.11 and a 5+ bed house from £142.31 to £148.77.
