The A55 Starbucks that's been stuck in the slow lane

A NEW A55 coffee shop that looked ready to open over the summer remains shut.

Gastronomy Foods secured planning permission in 2021 on appeal for a Starbucks and KFC next to the McDonald's restaurant at the Singing Kettle services near Holywell and Caerwys.

Work started on the new drive-thru Starbucks earlier this year with good progress made over the spring and early summer.

It looked ready to go by the summer holidays. Colin Lyness, who runs Tiktok page @face.your.fears1111 captured a drone video of the site in August, expecting it to open soon.

But fast forward to November and there is still no sign of an opening date.
