Teenager had surgery for 'serious testicle injury after clash with cop outside nightclub'

A BOY of 17 suffered a "serious and quite rare" injury when he was kneed in the groin by a PC, a jury heard yesterday.

PC Ellis Thomas, 25, of Gaerwen, Anglesey, denies causing grievous bodily harm to Harley Murphy near the Cube nightspot at Bangor in January 2023.

Opening the case at Mold Crown Court, prosecuting counsel Elen Owen said the teenager, now 19, had felt drunk at the time of the alleged attack in the early hours.

The alleged victim described how, as they left the nightclub, a friend who had previously been injured in a car accident was pushed down stairs by bouncers and this caused Harley to become "quite angry and upset.

Outside, there was arguing with door staff and police became involved.

The prosecutor said: "Harley says one of the officers wasn't being particularly nice and Harley admits calling that officer a 'speccy c*** - something he readily admits he shouldn't have said."
