Suspension bridge to see the return of traffic control

TRAFFIC controls will return on the Menai Suspension Bridge for a temporary period.

The bridge was closed to all traffic last month after engineers highlighted the need to replace bolts on critical beams located beneath the structure.

This was the latest setback for the historic bridge which first shut in October 2022 due to safety concerns.

The bridge later reopened under a one way system and on a part-time basis so that officials could enforce a 3-tonne weight limit. It then fully reopened on October 23.
