North Wales trucker 'distracted by sat-nav' sent pedestrian flying

A NORTH Wales lorry driver, “distracted” by his sat-nav, mounted a pavement and sent a pedestrian flying.

The collision took place on Biddulph Road, Congleton, Cheshire and could have resulted in the death of the 67-year-old victim, detectives said.

The trucker Glen Brady, 47, was given a suspended prison sentence and an 18-month driving ban.

Cheshire Police have now released footage showing the moment on December 17 when Brady drove onto the pavement and knocked over the pedestrian while he was “distracted by his sat nav”.

Miraculously, the pedestrian managed to escape the collision with just “minor injuries”.

Brady pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at a hearing at Crewe Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
