CAMERAS GO UP AS STAYS NOW LIMITED TO TWO HOURS

- By OWEN HUGHES

A SUPERMARKET has brought in new rules and cameras in a parking crackdown. Euro Car Parks has taken over the running of Morrisons car park in Holyhead.

This comes after concerns over the “high volume of litter” in the car park which includes human excrement.

The car park had been used by some truckers due to the lack of dedicated lorry stop facilities in Holyhead, despite it being the UK’s second busiest roll-on roll-off ferry port.

It has been a long-running issue in Holyhead particularly after HMRC took over the old Roadking truck stop site to create a customs facility following Brexit.

For Morrisons it has meant trucks using its large car park just off the A55.

Some car drivers also used the site for longer stays to combine a supermarket trip with a meal.

But now HGVs have been banned altogether and car parking is limited to two hours.
