A FORMER convent near the Great Orme is set to be demolished and converted into an apartment block of affordable homes.

Wales and West Housing Association has submitted a planning application seeking to demolish the empty Loreto Convent, a former residence for Catholic sisters, on Abbey Road, at Llandudno's West Shore.
The housing association wants to replace the building with a redevelopment for an affordable housing scheme with apartments and bungalows.
