Ex-prisoner spared jail return after guard attack

A PRISONER joined in an attack by another inmate on a prison guard, a court heard.

But Charley Jones was spared further time locked up following the assault on the guard at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham during March 2 2025.Instead, Jones, 21, of Llangollen Road, Ruabon, was given a 10-month sentence suspended for two years after admitting assaulting an emergency worker. He was also given 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement and an electronic curfew of between 7pm and 6am for 26 weeks.

Compensation of £300 must also be made the guard, with a £120 contribution to costs.
