Driver hit with fine and points after failing to clear snow from car

A DRIVER in North Wales has been hit with a fine and penalty points after failing to clear ice and snow from their car.

Snowfall and frozen conditions has caused various issues across the region over the past seven days - with roads and schools closed.

But another frustration for motorists is the morning removal of snow and ice from vehicles.

Dealing with this in subzero temperatures can see some drivers tempted to not fully complete the task - particularly once the windows are cleared.

But failure to also clear your roof and bonnet of snow and ice before setting off could land you with a big fine and even points as one driver found out this week.

It looks like this motorist was unlucky in that the compacted block of snow or ice that came off their car appears to have hit a police vehicle behind them, with this captured on camera.
