'Dragons should turn to Allardyce if they sack boss'

WREXHAM'S Hollywood owners have been told they should turn to Sam Allardyce as their next manager if they choose to part ways with Phil Parkinson.

- By LIAM RANDALL

The North Wales club's current boss has achieved huge success since taking the helm in July 2021, leading them to three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship. However, the former Sunderland and Bradford manager (inset) came under pressure at the start of this season after a disappointing set of early results.

The speculation surrounding Parkinson's job was later dismissed by Wrexham director Shaun Harvey and results have since stabilised.

But with the Red Dragons currently 18th in the table after spending around £33million on new players during the summer transfer window, a future without him is not as unlikely as it once seemed.

Ex-Blackburn striker Matt Jansen, who had a brief spell with Wrexham in 2009, has now suggested the club's co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac should choose Allardyce if they do decide to look for a new manager.
