Curry house fined for not displaying one-star hygiene rating at entrance

A curry house failed to display a low food hygiene rating near its entrance, according to a council.
-
The restaurant was taken to court and ordered to pay over £1,500 in fines and costs.
Conwy County Borough Council said it had given the Jalsa restaurant in Conwy town a food hygiene rating of one.
By law premises must display that rating at or near the entrance.
But in a statement Conwy Council said the Jalsa, on Castle Street and within sight of the historic Conwy Castle, failed to do so.
The local authority prosecuted the operator Mez Enterprises Ltd and a court hearing was held on January 27.
