The Alarm star: I'm not afraid of dying

A ROCK star who has battled cancer for 30 years insists he is "not afraid of dying" as he starts a new treatment that may finally cure him.

Mike Peters, the lead singer of 1980s Welsh band The Alarm, found global success with hits including Sixty Eight Guns. But since 1995 he has fought an aggressive lymphoma blood cancer multiple times.

As co-founder of the Love Hope Strength Foundation, he is urging more Britons to sign up to the Stem Cell Register, in the hope of finding a match and saving a stranger's life.

In an emotional interview ahead of gruelling CAR-T therapy, Mike, 65, told the Daily Express that he wants to fulfil his dream of creating a legacy to help others.

He said: "Cancer has been a part of my life for 30 years. I want this treatment to get me to a new Mike Peters who is cancer-free and walk into a brand new future.
