'Stud' Ludvig proves he is a tasty Swede

LUDVIG ABERG admitted it was "cool" to be called a stud after showing his class at the BMW PGA Championship.

The smooth-swinging Swede has gone from a college amateur to a Ryder Cup wild card in only three months, being dubbed a "European stud" by Justin Rose in the process.

And Aberg yesterday earned the same praise from Viktor Hovland after outscoring his Norwegian playing partner and Rory McIlroy on his Wentworth debut.

"He's a stud and I think he's going to do well in a couple of weeks," said world No.4 Hovland. "I was just trying my best to catch up."

Former amateur world No.1 Aberg, 23, said: "It's cool to be called a stud. I guess it's flattering but all I try to do is play golf and take every shot for what it is and see where it lands up at the end.
