But it was far from a leisurely day out – he was hard at work, perhaps on the trail of a third Oscar. His latest movie One Life tells the story of Sir Nicholas Winton, often called Britain’s Oskar Schindler.
Schindler was a German industrialist and member of the Nazi Party who was nonetheless credited with saving the lives of 1,200 Jews in the Holocaust by employing them in his factories.
His story was brought to mass public attention in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film Schindler’s List which won seven Academy Awards.
