"We can't sell Mateta with no replacement

OLIVER GLASNER has warned Crystal Palace to avoid the nightmare scenario of selling Jean-Philippe Mateta without signing another striker.

The France star has been left out of the squad to face Nottingham Forest as he negotiates a transfer to AC Milan.

The FA Cup holders have also been in talks to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen (right) from Wolves and Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa without completing either deal.

Palace have gone 11 games without a win in all competitions to slip to within eight points of the drop zone after selling captain Marc Guehi.

And Glasner, who will leave in the summer, said: "As soon as we agree to sell JP and we can't sign one, this is a possibility, we all would be really disappointed.
