Morrisons backs farmers' inheritance tax protests

SUPERMARKET giant Morrisons has joined the fight against the Labour Government's inheritance tax raid on farmers.

The company's head of agriculture, Sophie Throup, said it shared the rural community's concerns about the controversial policy. It is the latest blow for the Government, which has faced an ongoing backlash for introducing the tax on farms worth more than £1million in the Budget.

In a video on X, Ms Throup says: "We want to send a message of support today for the whole of the farming community.

"We understand your anger and your frustrations at the inheritance tax and we're with you.
