Generous readers donate £100,000 for youngsters' personalised wheelchairs

BIGHEARTED Express readers have performed a Christmas miracle, raising more than £100,000 for the children's wheelchair charity Whizz Kidz.

Today, six-year-old wheelchair user Aniyah Gardezi, pictured left, shares a huge “thank you” on behalf of all the youngsters who will be helped by your generosity.

The flood of donations has brought in enough cash to buy 20 personalised wheelchairs or other life-changing aids that will give children freedom.

Our urgent Christmas appeal Give the Gift of Childhood was launched just six weeks ago - but the results have already surpassed all expectations.

Writing in the Express today, Whizz Kidz chief executive Sarah Pugh admits that the £100,000 figure is "more than we ever imagined when this campaign began".
