KING BRINGS ANDREW 'IN FROM COLD'

'Andrew is still his brother and he knows the late Queen would want them to patch up differences'

THE King has offered an olive branch to disgraced Prince Andrew by inviting him to Balmoral.

Insiders said it was significant that the Duke is the first family member to join Charles at the Highlands castle and showed that relations between the pair have improved greatly.

 

The King wants the whole immediate family together for a break and was joined at the weekend by his brother and Andrew's ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York, who is recuperating from a breast cancer operation His peace offering to the Duke came after Andrew appeared to have won his battle to remain in the seven-bedroom Royal Lodge in Windsor, despite the King's efforts to persuade him to move to smaller Frogmore Cottage vacant after the monarch evicted Prince Harry and Meghan.

Andrew, 63, drove himself to the 50,000-acre estate on Royal Deeside while Sarah joined him after flying to Aberdeen Airport alone. They are staying at seven-bedroom Craigowan Lodge on the estate a favourite of the late Queen - and may be joined by daughters the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their families.
