Cambridge United...2 Fleetwood Town...1
TWO goals inside two minutes in the second half from Cambridge United were enough to see them to a home victory on Saturday, beating Fleetwood Town 2-1.
Strikes from Adam Mayor and substitute Shane Lavery turned the game in the U’s favour after Jordan Davies had put the visitors ahead just five minutes prior.
A third league win in five home matches for Neil Harris’ side took them into the top seven in League Two momentarily, as they were one of the early kickoffs on Saturday.
After some early forward pressure, Cambridge had their first good opportunity to score in the 12th minute. Kylian Kouassi got on the end of an enticing cross from James Brophy, heading just wide of the far post from the centre of the box.
Kouassi and Brophy were involved again to set up another chance a few minutes later, with the former controlling a floated pass from the latter in the box to tee up Sullay Kai-kai to shoot, with his goalbound effort well blocked.
