Brewers match league leaders as a nightmare fixture run ends

Kyran Lofthouse equalises for Burton Albion

In the last fortnight alone, Albion have played the top three in the Bluebirds, Lincoln City and Bolton, as well as beating Huddersfield.

That's now four points taken off the champions elect, and yet another game where they have gone toe to toe with a team many points and places above them.

It's yet more confirmation, if it's even needed at this point, that not only can they compete at this level, but also that they can be successful and achieve their aims and ambitions come the end of the season.

Gary Bowyer made two changes to the side that were beaten in stoppage time at Bolton on Tuesday night as Seb Revan made his first start since October, and Alex Hartridge returned from the nasty challenge at Plymouth.

Jack Armer and Terence Van-cooten dropped down to the bench, where they were joined by George Evans, another returnee, and new signing and former Wrexham teammate Andy Cannon.

Albion raced into a shock lead just ten minutes in. Hartridge's return also meant the return of his trademark long throws, and his launch into the box caused havoc for the City defenders who just couldn't get it clear.
