AVON and Somerset Police is urging the public to tip them off about illegal raves - but has faced criticism in the process.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the force said: "Unlicensed music events are unlawful. They cause distress and disruption to local residents and often don't have plans in place to keep everyone attending them safe. The earlier we know about them, the easier it is to take steps to prevent them and limit disruption.
