Powell, who recently returned to the club from Cinderford Town, struck after 30, 77 and 84 minutes as Mangotsfield ran out 3-2 winners at Cossham Street.
Roman Glass, who took a first-minute lead, went 3-1 down before a late second set up a tense finale. They remain top but all the chasing pack hold games in hand. Victory put Mangotsfield up to seventh, but still 13 points adrift of the last playoff place.
Relegation battlers Cribbs and Thornbury Town battled out a 1-1 draw at The Lawns on Friday night.
