Tommy's Oscar may be approaching the veteran stage of his career but could still be good enough to defy top weight in the NSPCC School Service Handicap Chase at Kelso.

He will turn 11 on New Year's Day but, having been given a bit of respite by the handicapper, there are reasons to believe he can make his younger rivals go a bit.
Tommy's Oscar has been an absolute star for Ann and Ian Hamilton, winning 12 of his 33 races, with last season the first time he failed to win.
