Thailand's leading studio reveals an ambitious lineup of five new movies for 2026 at a recent media conference
Thailand’s leading film powerhouse GDH 559 made a dramatic reveal at a recent media conference titled “GDH CIRCLES Connecting SEASON: Add Friends Day”, held at Ballroom 1, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the studio, renowned for its exceptional storytelling and artistic vision unveiled its next chapter — five new films scheduled for release throughout 2026.
The event opened with a warm address by GDH’s CEO Jina Osothsilp, who painted a comprehensive picture of the studio's identity — an integrated creative hub with a versatile team, strong partnerships and a bold ambition that transcends borders. She underscored GDH's rising stature on the global stage, citing previous wins for best picture and best director as testament to the capability of Thai filmmakers to command international attention. Underlining the studio's mission, she declared that each of the upcoming films would embody GDH’s commitment to thoughtful storytelling, innovation and cinematic excellence.
From her introduction emerged the concept of “5 Seasons” — five distinct films, each offering a unique mood and theme, to be released across 2026. As the lights dimmed on the launch, anticipation rippled through the room, marking the beginning of GDH’s fresh cinematic journey.
SEASON 1: SEASON OF WAITING
The first offering, intriguingly titled Human Resource, arrives from a collaborative effort between GDH, One Cool Connect and JAI Studio. Directed by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit and co-produced by Nawapol and Patcharin Surawattanapong, the film had its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, a rare honour for a Thai film and a milestone for GDH.
