Dressing fashionable flock on Britain's best roundabout
Aldershot News and Mail
|October 08, 2025
YOU may be driving past the best roundabout in the UK, with some baaa-rmy designs.
Sue Ashwood, 55, has been dressing up the sheep on the Bramshot Country Park roundabout, in Fleet, just over the border from Surrey, for the past five years.
From facemasks to Christmas jumpers, her jolly farmyard animals have put a smile on faces all over the world - and now they are getting national recognition.
Everything started during 2020. Mrs Ashwood said: “We had Covid and I was making masks for my family. I live in Fleet, they live in Farmborough, so I just thought one day when I was driving past to deliver masks to my family, the sheep needed a mask.”
While the animal sculptures were already on the roundabout, they did not normally get outfits - but this soon changed. Mrs Ashwood said: “It just spiralled out of control from there. That Christmas we were still in lockdown so I got some special fabric and made them up bespoke face masks for Christmas. That was pretty much the start.
“I just carried on doing silly little things. We celebrate Saint David's, St George's, Saint Patrick's, Saint Andrew's Day, Valentines, Christmas, Easter.
