Stanley pay tribute following lifelong supporter's tragic death at age of 48

TRIBUTES have been paid to a lifelong Accrington Stanley fan who has died at the age of 48.

The football club posted a tribute to Dan Greenwood and said everyone was "saddened" to hear of his death.
The club wrote:
"Everyone at #asfc is saddened to hear of the passing of long-term supporter, Daniel 'Dan' Greenwood."
Dan had been undergoing kidney dialysis at Chorley District Hospital.
His friends and family have raised more than £1,000 in his memory for the dialysis unit.
Dan was also a local cricketer and at one time played for Oswaldtwistle.
The cricket club posted on Facebook: "Very sad news.
