Major change at iconic photography studio

An iconic photography studio has announced a major change to the way it operates.
The Garth Dawson Studio has been run by Reg Whittam and Julie Cregg on Bridge Street in Accrington since the early 1990s and its lease is set to expire in around four months time.
The business was originally set up by former Observer photographer Garth Dawson in 1949 on Union Road in Oswaldtwistle, specialising in wedding pictures.
It later moved to a wooden hut on Church Street in the 1950s and then onto Infant Street before making a permanent home for on Bridge Street in 1967.
Reg joined the studio part-time in 1984 before taking over the reins when Garth retired in 1992.
