Flats plan agreed with conditions

ACCRINGTON town centre is to get eight new flats.

London-based Dimensions Planning and Architecture has applied to Hyndburn Council on behalf of an unnamed client for 'prior approval' of the partial change of use of a property in Union Street, Accrington, from commercial to residential.

It wants to convert the premises into eight flats.

The site is next to the main bus station and is a four-minute walk to Accrington station.

The application seeks prior approval for the change of use of the rear area of the ground floor and first floor to create eight flats.

The conversion will retain commercial space at the ground floor with residential units at the first floor.

The proposal will be debated at Hyndburn Council's planning committee on Wednesday.
