AN inquest has heard that Jay Slater sent a message about “selling” an expensive watch strap shortly before he went missing.

AN inquest has heard that Jay Slater sent a message about “selling” an expensive watch strap shortly before he went missing.
There had previously been claims made that the 19-year-old had stolen a £12,000 Rolex watch the night before he vanished in Tenerife last June.
Investigator Mark Williams-Thomas considered the alleged theft as a line of inquiry while Jay's disappearance became a focal point in the media.
