TRURO City boss Paul Wotton says the pride his side have brought to football fans in Cornwall makes the White Tigers' promotion one of his most cherished footballing memories

After four years, the county finally has a club in the National League system again following Truro's adrenaline-fuelled play-off final victory at Bracknell on Monday.

Wotton's side were twice pegged back during the game before club captain Conor Riley-Lowe pounced on a loose ball to squeeze an effort home and send the travelling supporters behind the goal into complete raptures.

Although the dust has has at last begun to settle, Wotton admits the emotions connected to Truro's return to Step 2 have been palpable all week.

"It's enormous, almost surreal, it's been a tale of fighting against the odds," he said.

"Everyone knows that I'm Plymouth born and bred and that I played a lot for Argyle but leading Cornwall's main side is just such an amazing honour.
