With ISKCON at its heart and universal access at its core, the Jagannath Dham in Digha marks a new chapter in India's living traditions of faith and inclusion

Where Devotion Embraces All

Visit the Jagannath Dham in Digha. Only then will you understand truly what has been created. And its power. I say this with conviction — not just as someone deeply involved in the Jagannath consciousness movement, but as someone who has seen devotion denied, and then fulfilled.

For decades, thousands of foreigners who embraced the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu stood with folded hands outside the gates of the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Many of them followed the path of bhakti for over 30 years. They chanted the Holy Name, ate only Krishna prasadam, and lived with extraordinary discipline. But per tradition, they were never allowed inside. We respect that tradition. It is ancient, and it belongs to a sampradaya we honour. But it also left a deep yearning.

That yearning found its answer in Digha.

I was present the day a group of foreign devotees walked into the temple for the first time. These were people who had wept at the gates of Puri. Now, they were walking into a temple where the Lord smiled back at them. It was as if Jagannath had finally responded to their prayers.
