Survey of gig-goers calls for government and industry action

In April, the results of the Music Fans' Voice survey of 8,108 UK live music concert-goers by Nielsen Consumer research were published. Following the recommendations from parliament's Culture, Media & Sport Select Committee, the research was commissioned by eight UK city authorities and conducted between 3 February and 4 March 2025. Respondents were aged 18+ and roughly equal male/female, with 21 per cent working in the music industry, and mainly rock, alternative, punk, folk and pop gig-goers (along with numerous other genres). Some 26 per cent admitted going to gigs less in recent years, 64 per cent citing the cost of tickets as the key reason, and 91 per cent agreeing that
