Kayal Arivalan speaks to IQRA AHMAD about reviving Kashmiri traditions with her brand Tul Palav

In the heart of Kashmir, a fashion label is quietly making waves. Known for blending heritage with modernity, Tul Palav, founded by Iqra Ahmad, is not just a clothing brand - it pays tribute to Kashmiri culture and craftsmanship.

“I started Tul Palav in 2015, inspired by a deep passion for fashion and the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir,” says Iqra, who grew up in Sanat Nagar, Srinagar. Her early influences came from within her home. Her grandmother's traditional jewellery, her father's evocative stories, and the iconic pheran - all these later shaped her design philosophy. “Every design I create is a tribute to Kashmiri culture and its intricate embroidery techniques,” she explains.
