THE GREAT EASTER EGG MYSTERY
Champak
|April Second 2025
The sun rose over the coastal town of Velhas, casting a golden glow over its winding streets.
It was Good Friday morning, and the excitement in the air was unmistakable. The annual Easter Treasure Hunt, the highlight of the little town’s festivities, was just two days away. But this year, the stakes were higher than ever—winning meant a guaranteed entry into the grand state-level Easter Egg Hunt in Panaji.
Bunty and Mira, the self-proclaimed ‘best treasure hunters’ in St. Paul’s School, had dreamt of making it to the Panaji competition for years. However, their arch-rival, Rocky D’Souza, had always managed to outshine them, and neither team had ever made it past the town-level contest.“This is our year, Mira,” Bunty declared. “No more just being the best in Velhas—we’re going to Panaji.”
Mira, flipping through last year’s clues, nodded. “Rocky will be tough to beat, though. I heard his uncle got him a drone to help with the hunt.”
“Pfft! Who needs a drone when you have brains?” Bunty said, tapping his head dramatically. Just as they were strategising, disaster struck.
“The golden Easter egg is missing!” Father Peter announced in the town square, his voice trembling.
The golden egg—a delicious, layered chocolate treasure wrapped in dazzling gold foil—was the grand prize of the hunt. It had been kept safely on a dais in the town square, but now, it had vanished.Gasps rippled through the gathered crowd. Whispers of sabotage spread quickly.
Without the golden egg, the entire treasure hunt would be cancelled. Worse, without a successful event, their town’s entry into the Panaji competition would be revoked.
Bunty turned to Mira, eyes wide. “DUN DUN DUN! This looks like a case for... THE AMAZING DETECTIVES BUNTY AND MIRA!”

The Park Came Alive
The Koi fish living in Sangam Pond of Munia Park had lately become very sad. No one came near their pond anymore, while earlier, the place used to be full of morning walkers. In the evenings, women and children would gather there. The park always remained lively with people’s chatter and laughter.

GRAVE MISTAKES
“Here’s your new school,” Dad said as he pulled over at the gate of Silver Pines School. Courtesy of his dad’s frequent job transfers, Omi is always the new student. This was his fourth school in the last eight years. Standing at the gates of his new school, clutching his bag, he tried not to look nervous. His family had just moved to the town a week ago, and everything still smelled new—new books, new uniform, new trouble.
