The Park Came Alive

November Second 2025

The Koi fish living in Sangam Pond of Munia Park had lately become very sad. No one came near their pond anymore, while earlier, the place used to be full of morning walkers. In the evenings, women and children would gather there. The park always remained lively with people’s chatter and laughter.

The Park Came Alive

A short distance away, Sundar Park was now bustling with activity. Every evening, a chirping sparrow would come there and narrate fascinating tales about Sundar Park and its Sarit Pond. She would tell them how the children enjoyed themselves, how the women had fun, and how the fishes and birds were fed with food and grains. Hearing all this made the koi of Sangam Pond envious.

To make things worse, that day Callie crow mocked them, “You all will be lonely like this now, no one will come to see you.”

The fish could not understand why people had stopped coming to Munia Park and Sangam Pond. They began whispering among themselves.

Old Bakku heron, though he hunted them, had no personal grudge. Hunting fishes was his nature, but he too had grown sad and worried after the park turned deserted.
