Warrantless surveillance cams track Americans

AMERICA is now a surveillance state as thousands of cameras work with chilling efficiency to monitor vehicle movements and share citizens' whereabouts with law enforcement — all without warrants, sources say.

A community can pay a private company to install hundreds of cameras to monitor traffic via artificial intelligence capable of ID'ing license plates and a vehicle's make, model, color and even its bumper stickers and dents.

Meanwhile, participating law enforcement agencies can access data from these networks — as well as their own cameras — creating a virtual coast-to-coast surveillance umbrella.

The largest player in the license plate reader (LPR) market is Atlanta-based Flock Safety, which has reportedly installed cameras in more than 5,000 communities across 49 states that perform 20 billion monthly vehicle scans.
