A look at the Swartland Street Party

In November, Zunel van Eeden visited the Swartland Street Party, an exclusive event to celebrate the unique wines found along the Swartland Wine and Olive Route. She spoke to Jolene Janse van Rensburg, manager of the Swartland Wine and Olive Route.

How did this year's Swartland Street Party go?

The event was a tremendous success, drawing approximately 580 guests. To elevate the experience even further, the Swartland Dinner Parties were introduced to the weekend programme, taking place on the Friday evening before the main Street Party.

These dinner parties offer guests an intimate, curated food and wine experience – a chance to connect personally with Swartland winemakers while enjoying exceptional local cuisine. The initiative also provides a wonderful platform to support and showcase the region's talented local chefs and restaurants.

What is the main goal behind hosting the festival each year?

Although the Swartland's reputation has grown internationally in recent years, there is still significant potential to increase awareness among local consumers and wine enthusiasts. We would love to see more South Africans discovering and enjoying the exceptional wines and produce from our region and, of course, visiting the Swartland to experience its unique charm and hospitality first hand.
