BYD has launched a rather exciting new product called the Sealion 7. But is it good enough to take on the big wigs of the automotive world? We find out
BYD, or Build Your Dreams, is a big name and has been in India for a long time. The company is more famous for its Blade Battery pack, and most EV manufacturers derive batteries from this company. Just a few years ago, though, the company began offering passenger vehicles in India, starting with the BYD E6 MPV. Since then, there has been slow and steady progress, and BYD has launched several models in India. Now comes the time to launch a rather large SUV in the form of the Sealion 7. So what does it offer and should you buy it? We try to answer all these questions.
The Sealion 7 is based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and uses the tried and well-tested Blade Battery pack. The platform allows for a RWD setup as well as an AWD setup. As far as the design is concerned, the company refers to it as the Ocean series design language and what it interprets are smooth-flowing lines rather than a boxy design. The Sealion 7 then comes with a sleek front-end design complete with sharp LED headlamps. The bumper houses sharp cuts which serve as aero aids. In profile, one can notice that the SUV is a rather large one. Massive 20-in wheels fill up the wheel wells and the design for the alloys is also rather cool. The sweeping roofline adds to the sporty character and the spoiler at the back adds to its design. The rear end also features a smart and simple look with connected tail lights.
The BYD Sealion 7 as we mentioned before is a rather large SUV. It measures 4,830mm in length, is 1,925mm wide and stands at 1,620mm in height. The wheelbase too is rather substantial at 2,930mm. Despite these healthy numbers, the Sealion 7 has a turning radius figure of just 5.85m.Diese Geschichte stammt aus der March 2025-Ausgabe von Auto Today.
