FOR ONE team it was the type of performance which boosts promotion expectations – for the other it was a display to heighten relegation worries.

STAR ISAAC PUNISHES SAD LINNETS WITH HAT-TRICK

From the moment this match started Sutton were in control against a King’s Lynn side who would have been wondering by full-time how they’d come to this after winning at League Two side Port Vale in the FA Cup only a week ago.

U’s manager Matt Gray isn’t naive enough to be drawn into thinking his side, now up to third, have cracked it after six games, but this run of form started more than 11 months ago and they’ve lost just three times in league action since the start of the year.

They are a hard-working side, epitomised by striker Isaac Olaofe, whose hat-trick helped Sutton cruise to victory with Tobi Sho-Silva and Harry Beautyman also getting in on the act.

“His work-rate gets him his goals and he’s such a great lad,” Gray said of Olaofe, the 20-year-old on loan from Millwall.

“We had him on loan at the back end of last season, he’s come back and fitted straight into our squad very well. I’m really pleased for him with his hat-trick and for Tobi Sho-Silva to get off the mark.

“We were on the front foot, passed it really well, pressed really well, good organisation and we started the second half well. Overall very pleased other than a clean sheet.
