Yates’ vow to Glassboys
MARK Yates may have a fresh outlook on life but insists he is “chomping at the bit” to get Stourbridge’s play-off bandwagon rolling.
The former Cheltenham Town, Crawley Town and Solihull Moors boss surprised many by taking on the job of steering the ambitious Glassboys to promotion from Southern League Premier Division Central.
After helping to inspire Moors to a great escape in the National League and an ill-fated spell back in the Football League with Macclesfield, the 50-year-old had a brief spell back in charge of Kidderminster Harriers towards the back end of last season.
He has also been focusing on a new business venture away from football – a coffee shop in nearby Bewdley – but despite the change of pace, his desire for glory remains undiminished.
