While it may sound like nit-picking given their phenomenal run, the Bluebirds have made a habit of spurning chances during matches on their own turf in recent times.

Fortunately for them, that didn’t prove costly as Dior Angus’s goal on 23 minutes was enough to keep Ian Evatt’s side three points clear at the top, even though their profligacy didn’t do much for the nerves of the Barrow boss.

Evatt, who served a touchline ban for the game, said: “It’s a great result in the conditions. It’s difficult to play the way we want to play in conditions like that.

“I’m pleased with the way they dug in, not so pleased with the amount of chances we’re missing.
