BAGGIES CLAIM CUP REVENGE

WOKING celebrated the 30th anniversary of their famous FA Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion with a special friendly against the Championship side.

A second-half Tim Buzaglo hat-trick at the Hawthorns in the third round of the competition in 1991 gave the Isthmian League Cards a memorable 4-2 victory.

West Brom supporters, then of the old Second Division, invaded the pitch at full-time and hailed Buzaglo by lifting him onto their shoulders.

They were, though, able to celebrate a victory of their own in the rematch after Ken Zohore scored a last-minute penalty.

“Woking was a good test,” said Jake Livermore, one of the Baggies star players, many of whom featured in the friendly at Kingfield. “It was something we are going to have to get used to this season – teams sitting off us and making things difficult.”
