NEAL ARDLEY insists he wasn’t focused on revenge after his Notts County play-off chasers picked up a huge victory at league leaders Barrow which made a big impact on both teams’ ambitions for the run-in.

Just under four months ago, the Magpies were dismantled on their own patch as Barrow ran rings around them in winning 3-0 on the day they first rose to the top of the table.

They’ve been looking down on the rest ever since, but they’re now glancing slightly more nervously over their shoulders at Harrogate after their first home league defeat since September.

The match turned dramatically on the sending-off of Bluebirds striker Scott Quigley as the previously defensive County made the most of their man advantage through goals from Tom Crawford and Cal Roberts. Ardley said: “I don’t think they’d lost here since early in the season and Barrow are a good team, there’s no doubt about it.
